They exist in a variety of materials and sizes. The main configurations are for single action (easily introduced and the extraction is done safely, two opposite movements), double action (introduced and removed easily in one motion) and detent (balls attached by a spring, only shear loads), as well other special configurations.
There are accessories, streamers, receptacles and attachments (lanyards) availables.
